I built ParentMatch out of love — and out of fear. When I had my daughter, it was supposed to be the happiest moment of my life. But things didn’t go as planned. My baby was born premature, and the birth nearly cost mom her life. I remember the panic. The helplessness. The silence.
We made it through — but I knew, without question, that I could never let mom go through something like that again. And yet, I still dreamed of growing my family. So I started exploring other paths to parenthood — and quickly realized how confusing, fragmented and isolated it was.
There was no clear direction. Just vague advice, closed-off groups, and hoops to jump through that left me feeling more overwhelmed than supported. And I kept wondering:
“If I’m struggling this much… how does anyone else do this?” It’s not that people have stopped wanting children. It’s that so many feel stuck waiting for the “right” partner, buried in fertility costs, or left out because their path doesn’t fit the traditional mold.
I’ve seen brave, determined people — single moms by choice, LGBTQ+ individuals, women who refuse to wait for permission — take on this journey alone. And I knew we deserved better. We deserve more than forums, legal guesswork, or judgment. We deserve a trusted space to find people who get it — and want the same. So I built ParentMatch. Not a dating app. Not a clinic. The moment I discovered my wife was pregnant was beyond words — a realization of the innate desire so many hold to nurture and raise a child. This beautiful journey has truly illuminated that the profound joy of parenthood should be within reach for everyone. Yet, I have also witnessed the heartbreaking hurdles that can stand in the way: the ache of a ticking biological clock while searching for a romantic partner, the unsettling vulnerability of navigating murky online spaces, or the crushing financial burden of fertility clinics. These aren't just obstacles; they are barriers to a dream, and no one should have to face them alone, preventing them from experiencing such a precious, life-changing moment.
While my own path to fatherhood was straightforward, it became profoundly clear that the traditional route is simply not the only way, nor is it universally accessible. My own anticipation of holding my child ignited a deep, unwavering passion to forge a more compassionate path. This led to a new option, Parent Match, an app born from the heart, designed to offer a safe, transparent, and truly inclusive sanctuary where individuals can connect and build the families they yearn for.
